Account Support Specialist

The Account Support Specialist is a versatile support role designed to assist the sales team by triaging and addressing opportunities identified by sales management. This position is crucial in managing various sales and administrative tasks that directly support quota activities. The Account Support Specialist will engage with a diverse range of clients, stepping in to provide support as needed, then transitioning to other priorities. While this is a non-sales quota-bearing role, the Account Support Specialist is integral to ensuring client satisfaction and the overall success of the sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Client Support: Collaborates with the sales team and independently works with clients, handling sales, administrative, and operational tasks that facilitate progress in sales opportunities. This includes stepping in when a salesperson is assigned or when a sales territory is open.
- Opportunity Triage: Responds to and prioritizes sales opportunities as identified by sales management, providing targeted support to advance these opportunities and then moving on to the next priority.
- Problem Solving: Acts as a go-to resource in unique situations, diagnosing and resolving challenges faced by the sales team or clients, ensuring smooth progress of sales activities.
- Communication and Coordination: Plays a key role during sales team realignments, ensuring clear and thorough communication with both internal teams and clients during transitions.
- Client Representation: As needed, serves as a primary point of contact for clients on behalf of the sales team, maintaining professional communication and relationship management in various scenarios
- Quote Preparation and Market Research: Assists in the preparation and editing of new business quotes; conducts and delivers market research to support potential business development.
- Industry Engagement: Represents the sales team at conferences and other industry events, gathering valuable information and leads that will benefit the sales team's efforts.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in liberal arts, education, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in sales, account management sales support, and/or sales operations, preferably in education publishing/products/technology
- Attention to detail, consistency and accuracy
- Multitasking and problem-solving skills with a solutions mindset
- Proficient in MS 360 Suite
- Project and change management skills are a plus
- Collaborative with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to display teamwork, camaraderie, and resilience.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
