Salary range: $97,000 - $107,000

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between our innovative early literacy software solutions and the needs of K-12 educational institutions. The Sales Engineer will support sales associates by articulating the value of our products and ensuring a seamless fitment and integration into school districts.

Essential Responsibilities:

Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand customer requirements and challenges, ensuring solutions are tailored to meet specific district challenges.

Pre-Sales Product Fitment: Collaborate with sales associates to identify customer literacy achievement challenges and demonstrate how our software aligns with their educational goals, improving the likelihood of product adoption.

Collaborate with Bids and Proposals: Participates in crafting compelling proposals, specifically where detailed technical language is needed.

Demonstrations and Presentations: Design and deliver engaging, results-focused product demonstrations to school boards, IT administrators, and educators, showcasing the value of our solutions.

Technical Support for Sales: Provide technical expertise during the sales process, helping to address and overcome customer applicability and concerns related to our solutions.

Engagement with Technical Administration: Work directly with district technical administrators to configure and implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions such as Clever, ClassLink, or Google, ensuring smooth rostering processes.

Data Privacy and Security: Address customer inquiries regarding data privacy and security, ensuring compliance with regulations and district policies.

Technical Integration Support: Provide technical assistance during the sales process and assist in troubleshooting any integration issues post-sale.

Event Participation: Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and educational workshops to showcase products and network with potential clients.

Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in school districts, including administrators, teachers, and IT staff.

Feedback Loop: Gather feedback from customers and prospects to relay insights to the product development team for continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications:

Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a Technical Sales, Sales Engineering, or Pre-sales technical role within a K-12 technology solution company.

Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of K-12 educational technologies, particularly in literacy assessments and curriculum solutions.

Regulatory Experience: Familiarity with FERPA, COPPA, SOC2 and K-12 Data Privacy Agreements

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze customer needs and propose effective solutions that align with our product offerings.

Collaboration: Strong team player who can work effectively with sales, technical, and product teams.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

Product Knowledge: Familiarity with current K-12 educational standards, curricula, and assessment practices.

Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and metrics to make informed decisions and recommendations.

Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adjusting strategies based on changing customer needs or market dynamics. Can quickly adapt to changing technology landscapes.

Sales Experience: Comfortable with sales processes, negotiation, and relationship-building. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, ideally within the education technology sector.

Customer-Centric Mindset: A passion for improving educational outcomes and a commitment to customer success.
